Protecting Our Environment
We are facing an opposition party that doesn't believe in climate change. This means that we can’t be timid in our protection of our environment and our great lakes, but we must be aggressive and proactive as we fight against a party that denies reality and the consensus that the vast majority of the scientific community has concluded.
Our nation's heavy reliance on oil and fossil fuels threatens the livability of our planet for future generations, demanding a rapid transition away from non-renewable resources. Michigan, the state that put the country on wheels, is can lead the world in green technology and the transition to clean renewable energy. Our dedication to deploying renewable resources to meet the state’s energy needs must match the historic commitment the nation displayed during the Space Race.

The more studies come out the clearer it becomes that data centers pose a direct threat to our environment. We must find ways to create economic growth without risking ecological destruction
Line 5

A pipeline only meant to run for 50 years has now been running for more than 70 years making Line 5 an environmental disaster waiting to happen. If an environmental disaster does strike Michigan won’t just lose access to clean water but our economy will suffer as one of our greatest tourist attractions will be at risk.

Michigan must continue to push forward in its lawsuit against Enbridge while also refusing to grant Enbridge the permits they need to build a tunnel for Line 5.
Clean Air and Water

We must take clear and decisive action to ensure that companies don’t pollute and dump toxic materials in our most vulnerable communities driving up asthma rates in these areas

If we are going to hold companies accountable we must strengthen our polluter pay laws NOW! Without strong polluter pay laws companies fill no strong obligation to fix the damage they have done to the community nor take care of those who were impacted by their negligence.
